Creative Vest
This was my first sewing project produced after taking a costume class for my Theater Arts minor. I'm actually a Women'Studies major and used that background to inspire the design. The class was really great and I enjoyed the fact that we were allowed to be as creative as we wanted to be . I used the suffrage movement colors as part of the theme in my vest and since I am not the greatest in drawing, I had my sister all the way in Guyana sketch the face and email me a copy to enlarge and transfer to the vest. I made an enlarged version of the purple ribbon and pin that symbolizes the fight against domestic violence and attatched it to the bottom of the vest. I also customized the head of the pin by dipping it into gold acrylic paint.
